How do u locked to landscape screen only?

It does seem small compared to the oversized iPads and other 10" tablets, but the 7" form factor is much more portable and easier to handle with one hand. Much more practical IMO. I've not found I've needed a larger screen yet since owning one. Perfect for watching videos, internet, reading emails, playing games etc..
Also remember that because of the aspect ratio, when watching a 19:9 film full screen on the Nexus 7, you are actually getting a larger video image than the same video on a 10" iPad because they have a 4:3 ratio and end up with huge black bars wasting a lot of the screen.

In the settings, get it into lanscape, then go into display and change auto rotate to off.
I just got mine, damn it's small...looks like a big phone :laugh:
Maybe I should have gone the 10" instead

Its a perfect size. Anything bigger would cause problems.
I find my hand hurts after an hour of holding IPAD3, but Nexus 7, no problem at all.

Some nice news for anyone that purchased a 16GB Nexus 7 before October 29th, Asus felt bad because of the new 32GB version that was released at the same price/or in some cases cheaper, and so are offering all these 16GB owners some money back in the form of a money voucher to spend at the Asus store. You need to register your Nexus 7 on the Asus site, then you will get £25 or €30. That as a cash refund would have been nicer, but anything is better than nothing, and personally I wasn't really annoyed by the 32GB version as it was a development and released ready for Christmas.
That nice of Asus and Mircosoft...please learn from ASUS

i just got a free 1 from my wifes phone contract
So how you finding it, you jammy sod,
.Rooted it yet, using all in one nexus 7 toolkit.
I would recommend franko kernel for 4.2.
You get pc game streaming working yet?
Full screen only works if your streaming from a nvidia card to tegra 3.
its ok faster than my cheap ebay 1 but no hdmi out or sd slot but 32gbs ok

im using free version with 460gtx but no full screen games work
I've not bothered rooting mine either as I can do everything I want without the need.
Would also like to know from those whom have rooted their Nexus 7, what was your reason for doing it? And what do you do with the rooted tablet that you couldn't before?

Lets you install custom roms and kernels.
I installed elite kernel and it doubled battery life. Sure john will tell you.
I used n7 on full charge to sat nav to playexpo, then used it all day (bluetooth tether), then used it to sat nav back to south wales. It died just as i got to my house, not bad at all considering it was being used with bluetooth, wifi, gps all day.
I think i even done a spot on mame for playing outrun,
.Im trying to setup an environment at the moment, no luck as yet.
I hate eclipse, so rather not use that.

I placed an order for the 32 GB Nexus yesterday. Sans 3G as I'll be probably using it mostly at home. I used a domestic, respectable web shop this time. Thought I'd give Chinese web shops a rest for some time. There's one week delivery time. Here's hoping I can get my refund from the Chinese web shop before that, not that it matters though.

I ended up cancelling my order at the web store and getting one from the local department store as they were offering the Nexus with a sleeve for the same price as the base unit at the web store.
Very nice looking unit and I like the padded background. Feels like good quality.

However you need to be rooted and have custom recovery installed. If anyone is stuck, cant get into recovery, attach your usb cable to your computer. Its a bug apparently.
Its best to do a complete nand dump, just incase. Then just flash your chosen kernel zip file through recovery, it does the rest for you.
If it doesnt boot, try delete dalvik cache and cache through recovery.
DONT delete the user data, as that will wipe your tablet back to factory settings.
Im currently using m-R30 Kernel, not as good as elite (elite kernel for 4.2 not done yet), but lets you overclock CPU and GPU. Battery life aint to bad with it overclocked to 1.4GHz.
Really miss the Elite kernel as I was running at 1.8GHz with 700MHz GPU.
