I've flashed my Gotek with the official HxC firmware about 2 weeks ago. It works proper and all but have a cpl of questions.

The firmware is great and compatibility is excellent especially game disk changes with had some issue with a 1 or 2 games using Cortex firmware. I also like that its customizable etc..

My issue is:

Selecting ADF's from the menu sucks because you have to select the slot FIRST using right ALT key

It only allows 15 slots for ADF's

I prefer the system like with the Cortex where you select the ADF first and then choose the slot. It saves on A: the hassle of using ALT key to go through slot by slot and B: Making mistakes by selecting ADF on wrong slot.

Is there any "fix" or go around to make the HxC software work easy like the Cortex ?

If not, if I had to re-install the Cortex firmware until HxC releases a better/easy software would I have to pay again to eventually re-install HxC ?

IS there any alternative software which works like Selector.ADF for the cortex but which works on HxC Gotek ?

Yes you will need to pay again to re-flash the Gotek

Wouldn't it be more productive to just buy another Gotek from Ebay and re-program it to have the Cortex firmware?
That way, you will always have the option to use either method as it suits you and for around £14-£18 it is pretty cheap.
Just make sure the one you order has the buttons and display (yes I ordered one of those that doesn't have them)

mmmmh why not customize it yourself ? :

Have you try the joystick ?

EDIT: I can also pack the "Cortex" FW to an UPD file. BTW no need to get another gotek ;)

EDIT2 :
BTW the I2C LCD screen support is now into the firmware.
