@those with the MK2:

what happens with PAL stuff? how is vsync? can you select (for example) PAL@100hz or something so you get smooth scrolling? or it's the same 50/60hz deal that totally sucks if you don't have a 50hz capable monitor?

@DonAmiga were you using that Tv before with your Amiga without Indi?

I really can't tell watching the photos. Is it a big difference now with it?

Yes its the same TV its just the icons that don't look as stretched as mfilos pointed out that it looked stretched out of proportion and for "16:9 monitors best mode imho is HighGFX 1280x720" It may not be much but I could see a difference here ;)

Anything in PAL has vertical banding (on what I've tried) across the screen but I'm using DVI to VGA as others have said its better with straight DVI.

As for the 100hz Jens has said "The reason why you can't display XTREME SHires laced is because the pixelclock is fixed at about 78MHz. However, in order to get above the magical 55Hz that most screens require, pixelclock must be at least 100MHz. With the current setting, XTREME SHires laced will only come out at slightly above 40Hz. Practically no monitor can display that.

Higher pixelclocks will be suppored with one of the next flash updates."

@fitzsteve, Its not bad and you can tweak the ACATune ;) I'm back down to something a bit more reasonable color wise:) I have to say I'm liking the ACA1230/56 its been running great and was running at 12.46-Mips the other day, been messing around with the latest ACATune :) I'still have and use bliz 1230IV setup with SCSI and 192MB, I had thought about putting the IndiMK2 in there but I thought I would be nice to have all the Indivsion stuff together

Cheers

thanks DonAmiga but :) from what I gathered from Jens's cryptic pixel-clock info and the rest deal (that I really don't care to know more about technicall details - and as a simple user I shouldn't need IMHO)
I hope that with said comming updates it will be possible to select 75/100hz for the simple PAL resolutions - for games mainly... (the picassoIV flickerfixer comes to mind that IIRC allowed 75 and/or 100hz refresh rate for PAL stuff so with a decent monitor you could see vsynced action for your games)

hi guys im testing mine now just got back

it works greatshifted to left tho

on super high laced on my 24in dell using a dvi to hdmi adapter

with the same res on my viewsonic 20 in i get banding with dvi to vga adapter

using the boarderblank is nice

the problem i get is the extream driver says its not executable on startup
will run in dopus but none of the res from it display

Got mine this morning, but didn't have much time to mess with it before work. I did notice that the HD cradle does not fit over the MK2, seems to be a few MM shy. However, it does look like I might be able to fabricate a new cradle that moves the drive shelf up a bit while leaving the KB supports in the same place. I'll know more when I get home tonight.

Quick test on my A1200/8mb with MagicWB 800x600x16 SuperPlus (yep that works) needs some work, but quite nippy on the 020 :)

Well, I did manage to modify my existing HD tray and raise it off the MK2 by roughly 7-8mm (1/4" - 5/16").
I have been documenting/photographing my modifications so I can start a new thread if there's interest.

Ok, I got my mods done and I'm playing around with settings and I have a couple of issues. The best screen I can get is using HighGFX @ 1024x768X16, and that's fine except for the fact that it doesn't work on restart.

1280x720 works, but is rather slow, although it's faster than I would have expected an A1200 with no accelerator. Not a big deal at all.

Here's my real issue:
I can boot in 640x200, then switch to HighGFX 1024x768x16 and it runs fine, for several hours, even testing a few games. On reboot, however, (soft or hard) it just hangs at the dark grey screen and I have to remove the HD, boot in WinUAE, set it back to default, then try again.
Is there something else I should be doing?

Also, I've got pretty noticeable vertical banding. Any way to fix that currently?

Thanks,
Keith

Turns out it wasn't the video settings that were causing the reboot issues, it was the video settings in conjunction with BorderBlank.

I had added it to Startup-Sequence and it works fine at standard amiga resolutions, but using 1024x768 caused it to hang at startup. Odd because once I'm in workbench, I can use BorderBlank just fine. Maybe I'm putting it in the wrong place.

My first one is installed, first testrun.

Notice I have far longer ground wire made, the supplied one is just to short.

DVI image quality Samsung P2770H 27".

Like most I have about a 4cm black band on the left.

Unfinished beta product with that price...

You expect a product made in small numbers to have been beta tested by a large team?

I'm afraid you wont see any mass produced cheap products for 20 year old computers :coffee:

There's no money in it, we're lucky there are people like Jens still producing upgrades for our systems and resellers like Amigakit supplying them

we the guys who have them are the testers and jens/amigakit reads and posts in the threads of our findings/problems

not many developers do this if any

I agree with John, I'm already happy to have a working product, finetuning is just details and I'm sure Jens will fix that.

I have had some problems with my ACA1230/56 too, but now the Amiga 1200 is the most stable one, but I think also the new 17.0 WHDLoad is far more stable than the previous 16.9.

Tomorrow, I will order a few long IDE cables so the HDD can sit near my second ACA1230/56, it's now a Blizzard 1260, but I prefer a HDD in there.

Would be nice if someone made a bracket that replaces the old one and has enough clearance for the Indi MKII.

I modified mine the other night. Took about 4 hours fiddling and adjusting to get it just right. I can post pics and measurements when I get home from work.

Incidentally, I'm going to need to come up with a completely new mounting system for the HD because it's in the way of where I want to put my optical drive :)

No but it would be better to include some warning with the product that it is unfinished and it is enthousiastic product. As you know as soon as I can I'll buy it myself, regardless faults or defective parts or missing soft.. I enjoyed the first hands on pics

From our webstore's Indivision product description:

Firmware will be officially in Beta state on day of release with software upgrades downloadable later on. The Indivision's software configuration tool is still in development and will be made available to customers in future after the product release date. Firmware updates and software will be made available as an Internet download and will need to be transferred to your Amiga for use.

Don't buy a too long IDE cable. Sometimes it gives you problems with transferring data. It gives you corrupt files.

If you don't want this problem, then you could better buy a Powerflyer or a IDE Express.
