Dear a.mi.goun

I have bought a 1438s/1538s monitor adapter (vga input, db23 output)
because my RGB ports are both broken (black, faint output), I thought, that maybe I could use that adapter for plugging in my 2 external genlock devices, (since they both require a DB23) into my Multivision 2000 flickerfixer (has a PC/VGA-style connector).But it doesn't work.

Do you know if something could be altered on the adapter to make my idea work, or is it impossible? I know one Genlock, the SuperGen, would also take power from the RGB port, but the HAMA Y/C has it's own power supply.
