As a new product idea, would you consider making PCMCIA extensions so that a WLAN card or similar could be installed internally? I for sure would buy one, and I suspect I'm not alone!

Unfortunatelly I do not plan to do. That would be a huge task and also very expensive. Out of curiosity I checked the connectors at aliexpress. Male pcmcia 50usd, female 22usd, plus you need pcb to be made, and solder and wire them together. And most likely only few people would need this.
