Plus the search is completely useless.
I have to agree, but we can't put the blame on the Amibay staff, unfortunately most Forums I know seem to have terrible search functionality.

My experience of responding to WTB adverts, is generally you become the "weekend entertainment". Answering questions, making videos, testing, taking photos only to find the seller only wanted to pay 1/3rd of the amount you stated up front.

I go out of my way on occasion to connect a buyer with a seller if I see a match, be the sale here or elsewhere. Usually there is no acknowledgement for your time and effort. It's as if the wanted thread in question was immediately abandoned after it was created.

I have always found what I needed by posting on the wanted. Just a matter of being patient. This has been good to me as I have the odd item that cannot be found anywhere else
I know this discussion is a bit old. But I was just reading this wanted thread and thought of this thread again. This is a classic example of why wanted threads definitely aren't useless and why this is such a great community. It seems to vary wildly. I had a Wanted post for an A1200 for quite a while so I eventually bought one on eBay. The eBay seller I bought it from happens to be an AmiBayer. He said he never looked at the Wanted posts. I've also had a Wanted ad for an A600. Two have come up for sale that I missed out on because neither seller looked at the Wanted posts.
On the flip side, I have two other wanted posts that were answered. However, it seems more miss than hit.

That may be, but it doesn't change the fact that if you tell the community what you want, users will appear and you'll find what you're looking for.

1. Some of my wanted things are too rare or ...
2. Some owners are sitting like hens on their hardware.
The retro scene sadly turned into a pile of arrogant behaviours and prices from outer space the last years. Only my opinion - nothing more and nothing less.
