Following on from my previous post, I have more information.

I can’t get the Buddha to boot on my Re-Amiga 3000. However I’ve also discovered it doesn’t boot from floppy. Like the Buddha, it is detected but won’t read disks. It was built following John Chucky Hertells guide and I’ve been in constant touch with him. It passed all diagrom tests and it boots to the kickstart screen. It’s obviously detecting the Buddha (see pic from boot selector screen) So why isn’t it enabling to boot and install on to a CF card? Also, the daughterboard is a firebird and the CPLDs were programmed by LinuxJedi. But because the floppy is doing the same thing it seems it’s not a coincidence 🤷🏻‍♂️

As replied in PM to you:

Okay. As a norm the Buddha should boot from the DOM first to allow for the installation of AmigaOS and the Drivers for the Buddha.

On one of my Buddha cards, I just for went the connect a Zip750 drive into IDE 0 and it worked from the get go.

I suggest working back. Disconnect everything except the DOM. Does it boot from the DOM? If not then check the jumpers on the card, are they setup correctly?

If jumpers checked and they appear correct then, try removing and re+inserting the DOM. If still no joy then it could be down to a faulty DOM.

I’ve done all that mate, no joy. Jens at iComp says it can’t possibly be the fault of the Buddha or DOM! 😒

Thanks anyway

What happens when you take the Buddha out and try to boot from floppy? Does the drive click/seek when empty and if so does the screen go blank when a disk is inserted?

I take it you don’t own another A3K standard Daughterboard to rule out the Prometheus?

Which Buster Revision do you have?

The drive does seek and click, but it just goes back to the kickstart screen🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for the link, but it’s not that because you can’t put the Buddha in the wrong way around on a 3000. It is getting power as it’s warm, as is the rgb2hdmi but no signal to monitor. It’s either the firebird or something on the motherboard. I’m sensing motherboard though as floppy doesn’t read discs either 🤯

Yes, they do. I’ve actually solved that, by accident I believe because they’re working now. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Just the Buddha to sort now

I had similar problems with the buddha. After some time of not using it, it behaved the same way. Just flash it again and it started working. But the problem came back again after a while when not in use. The budha was new, it was the eprom that was causing the problem. I bought a new one eprom, reflashed and it has been running 100% since then.
