Try connecting /int2 to "primary" /int2 output.
Some cpld's were programmed with code revision where secondary wasn't working.
Slowness can be because Cf drive doesn't alert the ide driver by interrupt once it's ready to transfer data. I imagine that the driver would wake up because of other device is using /int2, maybe the other Cia chip.
Well that did the trick, I now get 580,000 bytes a second! :D

Btw, I did ask you some time ago if mine was effected by this issue and never got a response! :(

So, only doing a small re-design on the v296?

I know you'll get too many versions, but I think the A1000 based systems can justify the making of a batch. Maybe we need a interest thread in the same shape as Tomthul made about the A1000 internal RAM.

+1 for the A1000

awesome news:thumbsup: ok now I want one too

Hi,

Just installed the IDE68 on my A1000 with a VXL30/8Mb ram. Also I used the V5 supply form the IDE-port to supply the FC.

Everything works Great,

THANKS for great hardware...

Try and connect secondary LED+ signal to pin 8 of keyboard header connector (in case of v401/v402 and Amiga 500).

This doesnt work on mine - another issue with my CPLD programming? :(

Does the led shine even dimly? The positive output may only give a few mA of current.
I haven't tried these led hacks yet myself.

About A1000: does the metal shield of floppy come nearly too close the ide header?

I couldnt see even faint illumination.

anyone know of any issues with using this IDE adapter with a LUCAS 020 accelerator board ?

Hi, check /int2 and /ovr connections, see a previous message in thread a while back, where that was the issue. V401 and v402 connections differ.

Not sure if this was asked or discussed already, but how do you go about making the FLOPPY LED light up when Hard Disc access is on?
Try and connect secondary LED+ signal to pin 8 of keyboard header connector (in case of v401/v402 and Amiga 500)
Or connect LED- to a 4k7 resistor and the other end to base of Q503 transistor on a500 (reference: rev5 schematic). Btw. To find which transistor pin is base, note that R504 is 4k7 the 'original' resistor for Q503 base drive and it's other end connects to _MTR0, pin 6 on U38 74LS38.

Thanks for the info. So just to understand how this normally works, does the FLOPPY LED usually light up when installed normal, and we have to do as you say here in case it does not work? Or does this need to be done to get the LED to light up?

Thanks!

Nope, it's a hack.

NOTE
Previously i thought that rev1 cpld code was where 2nd /ovr works, and 2nd /int2 not.
It now seems that 2nd /int2 doesn't work on rev0 cpld either.
And on rev1, also even 2nd /ovr, or 2nd led outputs won't work.
Testing rev0 and rev1 alternately, on one and same v402 adapter.

a thought, A500+ gary might have difference (in need of /ovr) vs a500 (????) - or not.

Recommended is not to use 2nd outputs if they're not working.
Also /ovr should connect to primary output.
Led hack: 4k7 resistor from primary led- to transistor base and check corresponding mainboard revision schematic. (such as 5-something, 6smthng,a500+)

The Gary chip is the same on Rev6 and Rev8 mobos.

ide-adapter arrived yesterday and after a bit testing it works great.
Thanks Mika, feedback left

Got mine today! thank you very much Mika. Feedback left.
Now... the installation part.

Who all have installed this in an A500+? Did you have a clearance issue?

Also who all have got the LED hack working? What did you do to get it to work?

Installation done on my A1K using Kickstart 3.1 under TwinKick and it works great!

Thank you very much.

has anyone used this with a djbase kick start print and a K 1.3 in an amiga 1000.
I get my cf under 1.3 not booted.
I have maybe a mount and scsi recognition problem.
under 3.1 works well I do have a scsi in my 1.3 with version I see though

Fits fine in a 500+ but I've got faulty cpld code and can't use the secondary connectors as they don't work.

1.3 doesn't have the 2.05 version of the scsi.device file (needed to support gayle ide) in rom so you'll need to make a boot floppy to use it under 1.3.

It works, I've done this: (Rev 8a board)

Try and connect secondary LED+ signal to pin 8 of keyboard header connector (in case of v401/v402 and Amiga 500)
But here it is a very weak illumination, if you don't have eyes like an eagle or better, you see nearly nothing. ;) At least it works!

Cheers,
Thomas
