Hi Rakeim132,

The PSU is a "Be-Quiet" SFX 350Watt Micro ATX Power Supply Unit. The dimensions for it are: 125mm wide, 63.5mm high, 100mm deep i.e. front to back.

The fan is a standard 75mm PC cooling fan.

Please let me know if you need more info.

Cheers,
Ed.

Hi Ed. Thanks for your reply. I have a supplier I know very well who has a professional water jet cutting machine, what material do you recommend for the backplate ? 1.0 mm steel or 1.8 mm aluminium ? Other thicknesses ?

Thanks a lot for advice.

I would like to add to your existing design effort the cut for the PSU and for the fan and some other variants for extra USB or external VGA or SCSI.

If you allow me to and if my supplier agrees I will propose the manufacturing "at cost" on Amibay... I'm not sure if a lot of people have this tower for Amiga 1200 though but I have one and I'm interested. LOL

Edit: sorry Ed, I went through all the thread again and found information regarding thickness and materials of the backplate. I'll be able to manage...

Apologies but I had to put the project on hold as I never quite settled the "Amiga corner" in the new house we bought in 2013 and all projects in progress remained asleep. Now we're moving again, and this time to USA! Might be that the project will be pushed by 6-8 months again but I want few back plates cut by my supplier prior to my departure... :)

Hi Rakeim,

No worries mate, you can do with the design as you please, there's no copyright on it :)

I would have preferred 1mm or even 0.8mm steel for my conversion but it would have required some kind of angled rib to stiffen it. I couldn't do this because I don't have a folding tool just yet.

Good luck with whatever you end up doing and may I wish you all the very best in your move to the US

Regards,
Ed.

Positions of the holes of the A1200 board

Positions of the holes of the A1200 board

Hello Ed.D,
this is a very nice Tower Project and your rear panel drawings are great.

I also have a renovation project planned for my A1200.

I am therefore looking for the exact positions of the holes of the A1200 board. (see picture attached)
Interest is the distance from the rear panel to the holes and the distance between the holes.

Can you help me.

Regards
Hans

Hi Hans,

Please see page one of the thread. I have uploaded a new JPG image there showing the positions of the fixing centres as requested. Hope it is all ok. I have also replied to your PM.

Kind regards,
Ed.

I have folding tools on my workshop, I might do a run of these whenever I have time to design it and lasercut it, if there's enough interest I will make a new thread.

Hi Ed,
I very much like the work you put into this project!

Any chance I could get the EPS file off you? The file linked on the 1st page is dead.

thanks!

Hiya,

I have re-uploaded the EPS file. Not sure what happened to it. Pls let me know if you have any prob's with it and Ill try to help where I can.

Cheers,
Ed.

Incredible!!! Amazing mate very very nice and powerfull Amiga tower project. Thanks for share.

All the best
Amiten.

Great job!
I did similar work last year, but never painted backpanel. It still works great, but doesn't look pretty, like your tower case. I'm willing to send you nice Amiga 3D domed sticker for case, for free, if you wish ofcourse. :) (try to find my old thread about it).

Thank you Zekstra. I have a boingball 3D gel already but I don't think I'll add it to this project. Thank you anyway though for the very kind offer :)
