Wow! This is great guys. I'm glad there's so much interest. :)

I know that the new ROM is from 1991 but I haven't been able to find any information on the differences. It's most likely bug fixes to the older version of the cartridge that was sold. The great thing about this cartridge is that we can upgrade the ROM at a later date. I plan on taking a stab at the ROM code to add features that work better with modern day devices. It would be great to be able to navigate a uIEC/SD using the graphic interface or even add some more DOS Wedge commands.

I have enough interest expressed between here and Lemon64 to order the boards. Today I will figure out the number of kits that we need and that will let me determine the price for the components. Like I said, I'm not doing this to make profit so the kits will be very close to cost.

Everyone,

I've updated the first post with the current reservations. The interest is much higher than I anticipated! The good news is that the high volume of full kits means that component costs should be lower for the whole group. The bad thing is that it's going to cost much more up front. This means that I will have to take pre-payment for the full kits.

Shipping costs will need to be calculated on a per user basis once I'm ready to ship. Payment for shipping charges will be due once I'm ready to ship. For overseas members, I'm happy to ship multiple kits to a single member if they are willing to distribute the kits in their region. This would most likely decrease the overall shipping costs for overseas members.

Unfortunately, I've had a headache since last night and haven't been able to price all the components for the kits. I will have the kit price as soon as possible.

Thanks everyone for the interest! I'm happy to see so much interest in the project and I'm glad I'm able to help out. :)

Since the legality of the ROM itself has come into question by a Lemon64 user, I will leave it up to anyone buying the kit to program whatever ROM they like to the chip. The hardware itself does not infringe on the copyright holder's intellectual property.

Any idea of which ballpark we are talking price-wise for the full kit?

I'd be good around the $50 mark, but $100 might be a little too steep.
