I will have a final price for the kit early this afternoon (GMT -5). I'll be spending my lunch time pricing components.

Just a quick update for everyone. I'm only waiting on a quote for the EEPROMs then I'll have the kit price ready. If they come in at the expected cost, then the kits will cost $20 each via PayPal Gift or $21 each via standard PayPal. I will update the first post with the actual cost as soon as I receive the quote.

*NOTE* The kit does not include a cartridge shell! It is designed to be used with any standard C64 cartridge shell or the icomp.de shells like those used with the EasyFlash.

Thats great for me Heather ;)
Pls add iainjh and Sardines kits to my shipment.

Thanks for all your hard work on this group buy.
I have a couple of 2600VEC r5 units that are dual PAL/NTSC ready to post out to you, just finishing the manual off.

TC :)

Thanks Bas! I'll update everything tomorrow. I'm waiting on quotes for the EEPROMs. I really want to use EEPROMs instead of OTP or EPROMs if at all possible. :)

That is an amazing price! Awesomeness :)
As for the shells, is there any chance an STL is available so that I could 3D print one?
Also: I asked about programming the units a couple of posts back, I'm assuming I'm going to have to locate an EEPROM programmer somewhere?

Individual Computers and Vesalia sell the icomp.de cartridge shells:

The drawings of that shell are also available so you could easily create your own 3D printable version:

Another case that will work with this project is any of the old Commodore branded cartridges that look like this:

The FCIII+ board that I'm selling has a hole pre-drilled for the icomp.de cartridge shell, but there is a mark on the PCB to drill a hole for the Commodore style cartridges. Drilling this hole is easy because there's a small hole already at the center of the Commodore hole marking. The only other thing to remember when using a Commodore shell is that the cases are smaller so you need to solder the chips directly to the PCB instead of using the sockets.

Since cartridge shells can add a significant amount of cost and many people already have suitable cartridges, I decided not to offer them myself.

Hope that helps!

Wonder if anyone can do the nice 3d style label for this project? To show its new and interesting! :)

Hi Heather,

1 kit for me and would like to take you up on the offer of doing the eprom as I don't have a burner.

Cheers

Kevin

I've updated the reservation list in the first post of this thread. Again, verify that your information is correct and let me know about any discrepancies.

I verified the costs of the EEPROMs and the total kit price is the same as stated in my previous post. I need to present the board to the manufacturer for approval. I will begin collecting money after the layout is approved.

Thanks everyone!

Hi everyone,

I *might* be able to include a cartridge label with each board and kit. However, I am NOT a graphics designer and anything I make would be amateurish. It would be great if someone would design a label in vector graphics with an expected print size of 1.26" x 1.83". It would be even better if the essential part of the label (Final Cartridge III+, Freeze, and Reset labels) could be cut out of the larger label to fit in the smaller area of a standard Commodore cartridge).

Anyone up for the challenge?

Heather

Hi Heather,

I'm interested in 1 full kit with eprom programing.

Thanks
