It is rather annoying when Royal Fail or Parcel Farce live up to these foul names they appear to have gotten themselves.
They got them names for a very good reason, they have one job to do and they can't even do that.

As for your other comments I do the best I can out of the materials I have. Sometimes my items look like something out of a Dr. Frankenstein movie but the address is clear, so just because the parcel doesn't have some pretty paper and little tape on it gives them the right to not send it?

I think not.

The fact is these issues have only just cropped up (for me) in the early part of this year, my style and presentation hasn't changed at all since I first started posting items on fleaBay.

[EDIT] Not a personal attack on you, just my 2 pence on the subject just to clarify. :)

Ok. In the last 12 months, I have had 4 packages go missing, one dropped in the stream at the end of my garden, a red card delivered saying that a parcel delivery had been attempted, but upon collection at the post office, the parcel was lost, and the lady behind the counter went crazy at ME...

I think at least I have permission to call them Royal Fail. :)

(and I always package things well, like you say, send stuff how you would like to receive it)

Irregular shapes should be made regular. That means getting a box big enough. Printed labels command respect over someones cr4p handwriting looking something akin to a Spider on 12 pints of Stella....

Royal Mail & Parcel Force do not return things just for the crack. Perhaps if you showed some pics of the items you are sending (with the Post Office description in their words) as to why it is returned, we all might be able to give you a few finer pointers.

It's irrelevant! If I pay for something to be sent, even if it's c%£k shaped then it should be sent, simple.

As for handwriting, you got a point yes but I always print my addresses out as mine is poo (not literally of-course). ;)

Of course it's relevant. They can stack boxes in their Vans.
Are you aware there are also size constaints when sending boxes abroad from the UK via Royal Mail? - Like no more than 90cm in width, height & depth?
Is your local post office to blame?
Are they sending your parcels by the correct charge for the weight you are sending & also by the correct method??

Unless you are willing to do this, I can't help you any more than I already have. Harrison might have some input here as he works for the Monkeys. Ask him.

Well personally, I have never got a return stating that it isn't box shaped enough.
I'm sending them the exact way I was sending them over the past years without hassle, that is until recently.

It's not a customs issue is it? Are they all being sent within the EU?

I should issue points for flame baiting for that comment; however, in my Judge capacity, I will allow the question, in order that the case for the defence can be made by Harrison....

I have to say it's easy to knock the post office but I've sent hundreds of (well packed and properly addressed) packages over the last few years and only 2 didn't turn up (and I was fully refunded for both). When things have arrived broken (including an Acorn electron this week), it's usually the sender's fault for not packing properly - putting some folded up paper in a squashy box does NOT count as proper packing! Paper in itself is not cushioning... it needs to be scrunched or shredded first!

I always package things so that they are well protected and immobile within the packaging.
You can never go wrong with bubble wrap and stiff cardboard.

Could be, had an issue with Ukrane customs, tool nearly 2 months for it to get sorted. Got to the buyer in the end though. This German package I got yesterday though didn't leave the shores so that can't be the issue for this one.

I hope people don't mind hearing my frustrations about this, just I really could have done letting it all out. Really helps allot to speak to people for different points of view, y'know. :)

Royal Mail may suck, but the only company that doesn't suck WORSE is DHL. DHL and Royal Mail are the only people I've tried so far (and I've tried UPS, City Link, and a few others I've thankfully forgotten about) who do something sensible if you aren't in the house at the very instant they want to deliver to you. They can also find my house, which is a plus ;)

A Royal Mail postie once left a package outside in the open.

When it was pissing it down with rain!

Hardly sensible!

Actually I think the Number one worst is City Link (or Shity Link as they are better known)

TC :ninja:

Our old postie used to sign for all our packages when we are out and put them under the porch. I miss him (he retired at Christmas :()

Strange; still no comments from Harrison in this thread......
