Hi, I have a rather odd request now.
I currently have en external slimline DVDRom sitting under my a1200 that is connected to the 40 pin IDE interface on my IDEFIX express. It is powered via the floppy drive power connector with cables running under the a1200.
Now I want to minimise the cabling around the floppy drive power connector as I am fitting other stuff in there, and was wondering if I could power the DVD drive off the external floppy port connector?
If so, what I am after is a plug (that is grippable and easy to plug in and remove - ie not just the connector but a shell as well) that goes into the external floppy port but then ends around 40cm (TBC) later in a female floppy drive power connector?

CrazyC: Such cable can be done, but it depends how much current your DVD draws. Some pinout suggests floppy port does provide +5V at 250mAMP max, but I think it must be higher, because most external floppy drives take more than that.
