I see a lot of people here having tons of Amigas, but I'm most impressed by those who not only have just over half a dozen, but all beside the cd32 is heavily upgraded.

That begs the question, which of this is closest to your view on Amiga perfection in your eyes? If I might interrupt your thread with that humble question :)

Great work!
What a beast!

I like it :D

Thanks guys!

Well its true I try not to keep too many of each system, just make the ones I have as near to perfect as possible, that means everything perfect and like new :D

The CD32 for me does not need any upgrade, I see it as a console like my Megadrive/Saturn, etc. I just use it to play my huge collection of CD32 games  I know you can just WHDload most games but I'm a funny person who likes to hold the media in his hand, maybe thats strange but I like to own the CD or Cart and play from that sometimes too.

Now you ask in my eyes the perfect Amiga, this might shock but for me its an A1200 with a Blizzard 1230 MkIV and a 4gb CF Card :ninja:

Its all you need for 98% of the games out there and you can jump straight in for WHDLoad gaming, switch on and play!

But I have also taken a fondness to the A4000, the main reason I chose A1200 for my PPC setup was for the extra Ram on the Blizzard or I would have used an A4000. So I kept my A4000's 040 and 060 based, with complete Zorro solutions as I found the Mediator although works great in an A1200 was a big buggy in the A4000 (at least it seemed to me)

I have a few things to add to that Sig though now ;)

Deneb (arrived today from Amigakit) & FastATA in the A4000 (Elbox Tower)
Subway USB/SATA PCI in this A1200
CSMkII 060 + SCSI in the Desktop A4000 (replaces the Apollo 4040)

Time for Coffee and read the Deneb manual :coffee:

Steve.

looking good steve, very nice set up

similar to what i wanted in my A4000 but i never quite got there lol

well done my friend, nice and tidy :-)

Nice work there , that is one power house of A1200 indeed, seeing this makes me a little envious as I was always stuck with an m68K amiga ;)

Heh. I'm little jealous of this A1200T... Too bad that those expansions aren't available for A600... I'm stuck with this version of Amy by my own choice.

Superb machine, and one I have now seen in the flesh! :) Thanks again for showing me your collection Saturday :)

Thanks for the kind words guys

I have a FastATA MkIII here to replace the MkII (so I can have OS4.1 Classic Support)

I'll post some fresh pics once I get round to installing that!

Top machine honestly  I forgot to ask on the day what the performance was like on OS 4.1 running the SATA drive. I bet it is ok because you have better throughput than native IDE. A A1200 really has no right to be able to load a modern OS really - so top kudos :)

Incredibly creative all this hardware to make a stock A1200 from 1992 do impossible things!!

Keep up the good work :)

steves machines are all great and stuffed to the brim with all the goodies possible

nice work mate

Thanks

Actually SATA is limited by the PCI Bus to about 3mb/sec which is a shame and the fact there is no DMA on the Mediator.

However it still seems very responsive and lets you use modern cool, large & fast HDD's

The best theretical option is still FastATA MkIV although I'm yet to benchmark this! I'll be benchmarking a MkIII soon so can let you know on that.

The MkI and MkII are only supported as 4way IDE devices

Thanks again! It was my pleasure to show them off at Amimeet :)
