great job there mate, when i did somthing like this i used the plastic bit too

Cool man, :) So you've got some big boys toys (the welder) :D I'll need to put one on the shopping list

thanks guys,

i am quite pleased with it, it does seem to be coming together quite well:)

i was worried that converting an A4000 case to an A1200 may not work, but so far so good;)

this bit of work was about cooling, so i have fitted some heatsyncs, and a few cooling fans.

I've roughly positioned the new mouse and joystick ports and also now have any idea where to mount the keyboard adapter:lol:

i had a go at making some cables, have no idea if they work as i can't actually power the system up:Doh:

added a right angle PCMCIA adapter (don't know why mind:lol:)

and fitted a little adapter to allow the 1200 to use the cases LEDS:thumbsup:

cheers, Justin

Nice work! You need darn good eyesight (or a powerful magnifier!) for doing these floppy mods! I've done a couple of Alps drives myself, with the handle of a magnifying glass in the jaws of one of those hobby clamp things!

So this is the machine for which you need those cables, yes? :)

indeed it is :)

you can see where i want to extend the ports to.

as for the floppy mod, moving the resistor was the tricky bit, jeez they are sooo tiny:D

nice floppy hacking mate

ps when you use the system move the voodoo to bottom slot by the fans as it might kill the ram on the radeon with the regulator as they get toasty too

right then, i got a mouse adapter and it is a very cool bit of kit, 2 joystick ports, ps2 connector and a usb port, complete with mouse, joystick auto switching:thumbsup:

now how on earth do i mount it into the tower???

a wee bit of tweaking and here we go:D

also made some labels so i can remember where everything goes:lol:

All kinds of awesome going on here chap, what did you use to cut the metal? That's a very neat job.

Now you've ruined the image of your steely eyed craftsmanship, rotary tool in one hand, vice like grip on the backplane, and unwavering devotion to a high quality, handcrafted product. :D
